Departure from Ouranoupolis to Blue lagoon
The vessel ‘Ioanna” departs at 10:30 from Ouranoupolis to Blue Lagoon cruise whose destination is the island of Diaporos in the area of Vourvourou with crystal clear waters. Embarkment starts at 9:30 but it is wise that the visitors board the ship half an hour before departure time.

The tickets are checked during the embarkment. During the summer months June, July and August we propose that you buy your tickets on time, because the number of passengers on each cruise is limited.
Swimming at the clearest waters
The vessel departs from Ouranoupolis to Blue Lagoon leaving behind the peninsula of Mount Athos where in the background you can see the imposing Mountain Athos which towers up to 2033m. On the right you can admire the island of Ammouliani as well as the islands Drenia which you can visit in one of our trips. To the prow of the vessel our destination Sithonia can be seen and will be reached in about 1 hour.
Our first stop at the island Diaporos takes place in the open waters of the bay where you can dive from the vessel into the turquoise crystal clear waters of the area for about 45 minutes.
Our next destination in about 1 hour is the island of Ammouliani and Tsaska Banana beach, where you can enjoy the sun and the sea in combination with the green lush vegetation of the area. The rhythm of the music and the tasteful decoration will excite you. For the adventurous explorers there is a road which leads to the highest hill of the island, where somebody can see the whole island as if they were flying as well as the entire Mount Athos peninsula with the imposing Mountain Athos towering up to 2033m. In addition, in the largest part of the beach there the waters are shallow, so it is really friendly for little children.

Explore the local market
After 2 hours of relaxation, swimming, food and exploration the vessel departs for its next destination which is within 15 minutes-the traditional small harbour of Ammouliani where a stop will take place for about 1 hour. During this stop you will have the opportunity to explore the local market of the island and the church which is situated in the square and dates back to 1865 and was constructed by monks from Mount Athos. The island was a monastery dependency of H.M. Vatopedi until 1925, when it was granted to the Greek refugees from Minor Asia. Furthermore, you can visit the folklore museum which was built in 1907 and was used by them as a school in the early years of the island. The old “arsanas” (dockyard) is really impressive and it was used by the monks as a docking place for the small wooden boats.
Finally, our voyage back to the island of Ouranoupoli lasts about 20 minutes and the vessel arrives there at about 17:00.
